Flexible Paper Battery
Scientist have developed a new way of producing alternative electricity such as battery, in a new form of material. A thin, black looking postage stamp will later be found on our devices such as laptops, music player, cellphones, and other electronic devices. The new flexible battery is capable of providing enough energy for the gadgets of tommorow. Made from 90% cellulose fused to align carbon nanotubes, and an electrolyte layer bonded at the molecular level. It looks like a paper which can produce electricty. When stacked or rolled in layers, it increases the power output in a manner similar to regular batteries.

The electrolyte bonded material will not freeze or evaporate, allowing a stunning operational temperature range. Since the material is flexible, a lot of potential actual application are possible. End users can use it on car doors, boat hulls, or even on home walls. The applications are endless. The material is apparently deposited on an ionic liquid contaning no water essentially a type of liquid salt, which means no toxic chemicals are used on manufacturing or production of such flexible battery, making it environmentally friendly. At the same time materials a inexpensive and easy to mass produce, although researchers haven’t yet worked on through technical issues of cost-effective mass production.

The new battery type exhibits some unique electrical properties. You can use it as a lithium-ion battery which can store and release energy as it is needed. It also has a new property of super-capacitor. These allow a quick discharge when necessary.
